Overview
This document provides benchmark data comparing Okta and Microsoft Entra ID across authentication latency, MFA prompt speed, provisioning cycle times, API rate limits, availability SLAs, and global presence. Data is sourced from vendor documentation, published SLAs, and publicly available performance testing.
Performance benchmarks are derived from vendor-published specifications, SLA documentation, and publicly reported metrics. Actual performance varies by network location, tenant configuration, and load. Organizations should validate benchmarks in their own environments during the migration pilot phase.

Key insight: Federation latency elimination
When Okta is the IdP and Entra ID is the resource platform (M365, Azure), every authentication requires a federation round trip:
